IS IT VAIN TO TRUST GOD?

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living (Psalms 27:13).

Consider the circumstances in which David wrote this Psalm; he is descriptive of:  Evil doers … adversaries … a host against me … war against me … the day of trouble … Mine enemies round about me … My father and my mother have forsaken me … false witnesses … breathing out of cruelty!  But do not overlook David’s firm affirmation:  My heart will not be afraid … I will be confident … Mine head shall be lifted up … I will sing!  Why?  Because I had fainted unless I believed to see the Goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!
